Game DescriptionAvesta! is a two-player strategy game based on the theology of Zoroaster as recorded in the sacred texts of Persia called the "Vend Avesta." That's a fancy way of saying that this game uses the metaphore of an evenly balanced Holy-versus-Evil conflict. The pieces have assigned moves of distance and direction, and most pieces can capture by displacement (like in Chess). In addition, some pieces are restricted from certain spaces on the board, and some pieces can be promoted as higher-ranking pieces are captured. Play-tested by many chess players, this has been a fun and interesting game, and "ready for prime-time!"Avesta! is copyright protected © 2000 David McCord |
